Highbury garden

The client wanted a seamless transition from the interior living spaces to the exterior of the property. Grey tones for the paving and planters were chosen to reflect the interior decoration of the kitchen. Porcelain paving is used to create a terrace at the rear of the house and three grey yorkstone slabs set in basalt gravel lead on to a raised deck and informal seating space at the rear of the garden. A simple pallette of planting with strong evergreen structure for year round interest was chosen and a single specimen silver birch creates a focal point when the garden is viewed from the kitchen. Horizontal hardwood cladding and jasmine panels make up the boundary, creating screening and privacy from neighbouring properties.
